Music Show

Stay and Play Preschool had their annual January Music and Art Show. This year both Jeffrey and Meredith participated. It was fun to see all the kids performing. Jeffrey also made some nice artwork, he painted a 'car with skiis' purple and green - he got to hammer wood pieces together to create it. He also got to work with oil pastels and made a 'rainbow' on a piece of felt. Very colorful. Meredith's class created paper cut-outs of themselves that they decorated - very cute. The kids do a lot of fun things at school.

Jeffrey's class moves the parachute with the tempo of the music.

New Year

The kids are settled in at school, they were glad to be back. Meredith was happy to see all the toys and her little toddler friends. No difficult adjustments for the Axtell Family!

We have been keeping busy by going to our local science center - the Discovery Zone. There is so much for Jeffrey and Meredith to do there. Jeffrey played with pulleys, the flight simulator and dug in the sand pit for 'artifacts'. Meredith and I built a 3-D structure out of colored plastic tubes and connecters - she handed everything to me and I built a 'ball'. They also liked crawling through the beaver hut display. There is even a little toddler zone Meredith can enjoy that is for kids 3 and under.

Earlier this week we all had a great time at the Arboretum. It was sunny and warm for January. Meredith walked around the whole garden and then didn't want to leave. This week we heard the news that they will be planting the 'Children's Garden' soon - the arboretum is going to be even more fun for our family!

Happy Holidays

Having a merry little Christmas.

We had a wonderful Holiday season with our families this year. The kids had a great time opening presents Christmas morning, Meredith even slept until 8 AM! Jeffrey enjoyed his new Geotrax train and opened some presents while Meredith slept in. I think he liked the almost undivided attention. (Our only distractions were opening some gifts of our own!) Meredith got a little cough the day after Christmas so unfortunately our travel to Franklin to visit the Axtells was delayed. While Meredith recovered Jeffrey discovered his love of hiking when Mike took him out to burn energy and enjoy the fresh air on Mount Nittany. Jeffrey and Mike had such a good time they went out hiking the next two afternoons too!

We had a very low key New Year's and decided to stay home. Mike and I had a nice fire and read our books after the kids went to bed. New Years Day we visited Mike's family, the kids had a great time and were very excited to travel. Now we are happy to be back home and back to preschool, seeing our friends again and getting back to our regular routine.
