Well, finally got around to posting pictures from the 4th of July. We all had a great day. We began by waking up going running -- every year here there is a 4k race on the 4th of July (4k, get it) which is a fundraiser for the town fireworks. This year I ran it while pushing Jeffrey in the jogging stroller. Man, he is getting heavy, and it was a hilly course this year. We woke up really late .. at about 8:20. We ran out the door quickly and got to the start .. just as I had closed the car door and was moving toward the road where the start line was, the gun went off! No problem though, there were so many people bunched at the start that its not like we had a big disadvantage. It was really hot, even at 9:00AM, that day, and 22:15 later at the finish I was really sweaty. Sorry, no pictures of that one.
That afternoon our friends came over for dinner. Jeffrey and his friend Wren went swimming in the kiddie pool and had a good time. After they left, Jeffrey and I went to watch to fireworks from a corner near our house which has a very long view of the fireworks. It's really just a grassy hill above the parking lot to some apartment buildings, but it's close to our house and no hassle. Jeffrey was whipped by then but had a good time.
