So, obviously we've been a little behind in posting lately -- sorry! We've had a busy week or so and most nights by the time we get a little free time it's bed time.
Anyway, I'll trickle out some of the things we've been up to one at a time in a couple separate posts over the next few days. The first one is the 'Children's bike parade', which we went to on Saturday morning (the 3rd). This is run by the county parks and rec department. Basically, if you have little kids the idea is that they A) show up with their bikes, trikes, or wagons decorated with red, white, and blue, B) and ride down a few blocks, in back of a fire engine, while a truck with loud-speakers, blaring John-Philip Sousa marches, brings up the rear. It's fun. This year Jeffrey did it up on his rasta-colored trike while Gwen carried Meredith in a carrier. At the end of the parade is the Central Parklet downtown, and the fire truck gave rides to kids in the ladder (line too long, so none for us) and there was free watermelon.
Jeffrey spent some time with some of his friends too. Here are a bunch of small pictures .. full size ones are in my (mike's) public gallery on Picasa at
